A Place to Find Space

I’ve been travelling full time for 6 weeks now. I had a pretty clear direction on what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go. Right now I feel more lost than ever.
Today I lost a client job that was giving me a regular wage while I travelled. Was I upset? I’m not sure. I’ve been telling myself for weeks that I am so busy and I don’t have the time to do the things I need to do. Well today I got cleared a whole days work. Isn’t it funny how life gives us what we want, maybe not in quite the way we planned it though.
I’ve just arrived in South Australia again. I’m planning to spend this whole month exploring the state I grew up in. I wonder what life has in store for me this month…
At the start of this year I set myself an intention. I chose a word to focus on over the year. My word is AWARENESS.
When I think back over my last 7 weeks of travel I realise I didn’t leave myself much space to be aware. I’ve been packing so much into my days that I’m spending the little time I have just trying to keep up.
Last night I pulled into Penola near the South Australian border for an overnight stay. Whenever I drive through a new town I’m noticing every one has a tag line. Penola’s is “A place to find Space’
More space has been on my mind for quite a long time now but seeing that sign as I drove into Penola made me realise that I haven’t been listening to myself. I really need to make some changes to the way I’m travelling.
I think my overnight in Penola is a good chance to clear some space in my days. This isn’t going to be easy as I’ve come to rely of packing as much into my days to see more and explore further, but I know deep inside the future traveller in me depends on it.
It’s time to find a little space in my travel and in my life.
